Huge win for car owners! All TSBs to be made public. The Center for Auto Safety just made the NHTSA (US Government) make public the full text of all TSBs from now on. They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. Whenever you drive in your car, you are safer thanks in part to a lot of work over the years by this small but very effective consumer advocacy group.

Please take a moment & say thank you by donating $5 or whatever you can to the Center for Auto Safety.

The crank pulley problem was significant enough that Toyota recalled 2004-2006 V6 Highlanders, plus some other cars. However, our car "missed the cutoff", so despite being a 2004, the recall did not apply to us- even though our car had the exact same problem as all cars that were recalled. When calling Toyota all they say is "It was determined that cars manufactured before a certain date did not have this problem". Determined by whom? Determined by the people at Toyota who don't want to pay for their mistakes!
