I purchased the best warranty that Marquart Motors in Eau Claire Wisconsin provides. 7year/100,000 miles. They are telling me that this item is not covered under warranty (one of five items). I am not a car mechanic and I wouldn't know a charcoal canister pump from a muffler bearing:). So I purchased this warranty with that thought in mind. Now being a woman, and spending the extra money on the warranty I'm suppose to be a car mechanic and be able to identify the short comings of the Toyota Venza. It stands to reason that if they knew this unit was a weak link in the warranty and that this charcoal canister pump was going to go bad (as it appears in searches to be common in other Toyota models) they should have warned me and made it an exception with a detailed outline of the problems and if there are ways to prevent the malfunction. My opinion is that I'm a woman, Marquart knew of this potenial issue because it was specifically not covered in the warranty, which means it was most likely going to be an issue, and now the only way to resolve this issue is to make it a legal matter and start filing complaints with the better business bureau's and also small claims court. We'll see if common sense will help get this resolved beforehand, but my guess is that it won't. I'm retired so I've got lots of time and another car so in the long run Marquart will be my focus for the forseeable future.
