Purchased the car used with 23,000 miles but didn't notice the popping, creaking noise for the first few days. On any rough surface, it made a loud racket in the roof area around the skylight but we couldn't pinpoint it. We took the Venza to our local Toyota dealer (Webb) to check it out. They had it for almost 3 weeks and had it apart a number of times before the poor tech found the problem. Seems a couple of roof bolts were stripped at the factory! They re tapped for larger bolts and the problem was cured.
My wife and I HIGHLY recommend Webb Toyota and their staff. All work was under warranty and cost us nothing. Thank God for good dealers!
