This is my 5th Toyota. I never had any issues with my car, however I did change my car for the latest model after 3 to 4 years.
What I found interesting is that everything was ok until my 3 year manufacturer warranty has run out. I have only 40000 KM and the car is 3 years and 1 month old. Is to expect the clutch to be completely worn out not to be able to drive at all? I consider my car relative new.
I take my car for service every 6 months. I had a service on Saturday and I was told the clutch is worn out and 3 days later I had to be picked up by RACV on a main road.
My main question would be: does a clutch deteriorate to such an extend to get the car un-drivable after 7000KM I drove since my last service? I could not have a warning from the Toyota service that may happen?
I always considered Toyota a reliable car, Now I am not so sure.
