The same issue as another owner with the 10 amp brake light fuse blowing and the motor turning over but not starting the car.

I think the fuse blowing causes the Body computer to fault which stops the Engine computer from starting the car. Has anybody else had this issue and found a fix ?

I'm sure with 2 cars having the same fault then it's a know issue and somebody has a fix or answer.

Please post a reply if so.

Cheers

I have had the Chery J11 towed to the mechanic because my car would not start. They placed a 10amp fuse and said it blew a brake light fuse. The next time it was at the traffic lights, which I was very grateful that a gentleman helped me push the car out of the 5 oclock traffic. Again went back to the mechanic who said it would have to go to the auto electricians as he seemed to think was electrical, which had to be towed again. I told the staff it had a blown 10amp fuse which had happen before. I rang the next day to be advised they replaced the fuse and it was driving great and was unable to find any fault.

I drove the car home and the next day I went shopping. After shopping I sat in the drivers seat and again I cannot start the car. The car is towed to another auto electricians who seemed very helpful only the car drove very well whilst they had the car. I was advised to pick the car up as it doesn't seem to have a problem. No problem with the car then they cannot fix the car. I went outside to start the car up and the engine motor would not turn over. So they kept the car I rang them a few days later to collect the car. I was given an account stating it might be electrical when starting or turning the key on to start. I was given a handful of fuses. If it happens again replace the fuse which I done twice. Thinking it might be the air conditioning I wouldn't use it or the fan on our days in Queensland which were 35 degrees and hotter. However I can rule that theory out as I finished work today and went to start the car. I replace the fuse and guess what! it wouldn't start. A Work friend saw I was having trouble so being a male he had a look and replaced all the fuses 1X1 to no avail. I have tried to contact the Chery customer service via e-mail and was advise to ring the Roadside Assist.

Now at the moment I have a car which has just gone 3 years old and no one can help me. I have to go to work to pay the bills, does Chery Care!!!! No way, I sent an e-mail back in April 2014 stating I was still having trouble with my brakes, would this issue still be covered under warranty as it was an issue from the time I had bought the car? Once again no reply. Once the car is sold this Chery company doesn't want to know you. So beware when thinking about buying a Chery, they are a dud. So if anyone has had a problem or similar and would like to offer suggestions I am open to all advise!

Why is it a multi million dollar company sells you a car then don't back up their product/word. Why are they allowed to get away with ripping off the working class people. I bet the rich don't have hassel like the working class do? What happen to standing by the car or item you sell?

Well life goes on and so will our problems because these companies don't care!!!!
