I read another identical complaint and manufacturer has effectively washed their hands of it. Wiring harness apparently has a problem yet if you want it pay for belief the long run.....chevy is going to end up paying for it.

I have the 2006 extended cab and I had more problems with this truck buy 2008 than I ever did with my 12 year old toyota p/u. (1) The rubber gasket on the bottom of windshield began dry-rotting within 2 yrs. (2) I have had to replace 3 headlight bulbs. (3) the over-cab indicator light fixture gasket was apparently defective and allowed water in the overhead (inside cab), I did not realize it was leaking until one day when I realized that there was no dew on the roof to drip down on the back window, yet when looking in the rear view mirror I saw water droplets on the back window. I found the droplets to be on the inside of the window. I then noticed water IN the light fixture (overcab), this explained the lights out and the constant brakelight (on rear lights) failure. the water was shorting the bulb sockets in the overhead thereby causing the regular taillights to overheat and begin melting the black sealant on the rear taillight connectors, preventing current path through the bulbs. Since I disconnected the overhead fixture I have not had a brakelight problem. (4) the suspension, at 2 yrs old sounded more like a 12 yr old suspension, this truck creeks and groans more than any vehicle I've ever owned. (5) rear brakes wore out before front brakes, (2 sets of rear for 1 set of front, normally the other way around, and the brakes were adjusted correctly). (6) truck had a dented tailgate when it was delivered to dealership, they swapped out the tailgate with another truck so I could drive it out that day. Didn't think about the Key for tailgate being different until a couple of weeks later when I tried to lock tailgate, I called dealership, they told me to take it to the dealer closed to me....."don't tell them we changed the tailgate" (from dealership personnel). The mechanic who got the lock matched up with my key said..."it was due to the Linex coating" BS, it was due to a different lock all together, and when Linex sprayed my truck bed, they removed all of the mechanisms prior to spraying to ensure that wouldn't happen. (7) I've had to take this truck in for recall so they could fix the recall they did before.....what?!?

As I stated the long run....chevy is going to end up paying for this. I have had more problems with this truck but its time to close out. Rest next truck will NOT be a chevy. I went back to american made to give them a chance and they bombed badly. The last good american brand vehicle I had was built in the late 60's. With this vehicle defects and the fact that gm has shipped the vast majority of its corporation operations to china, I am absolutely done with gm products.
