New Safety Recall Advanced Communication ? P06030614
Chrysler Group LLC (Chrysler) announced a safety recall on certain 2014 model year (BF) Fiat 500L vehicles equipped with a six-speed Dual Dry Clutch automatic transaxle.
The Gear Shift Module (GSM) may experience a loss of communication with the transaxle. This may result in an inability to shift the vehicle out of the ?Park? position and/or be able to control the transaxle gear selection. Failure to be able to shift the transaxle as requested could cause unintended directional movement and causes a crash without warning.
Chrysler will conduct a voluntary safety recall on all involved vehicles to interrogate the software level in the GSM. Depending on the software level found in the GSM, the GSM must be either reprogrammed or replaced.
Dealers will be notified of the launch of this safety recall by way of established methods used in the past. Chrysler anticipates the launch of this safety recall in March 2014.
