The driver's seat cushion bottom is made in 4 foam parts. The side next to the door began to pull away from the seat at about 35,000 miles. The car was about 5 years old. Reported to dealer and showed problem. Was told I could purchase seat cover for ~$400, both front seats, and pay for installation. Tried duct tape and that didn't hold it for more than 2 years. Looked into non-Honda seat covers but was told they would fail as not strong enough to hold foam together.
Bought Costco seat covers (which don't fit well) and with diligent use of duct tape had held seat. Now the outer piece has sagged off completely. Price for repairs at Honda haven't changed. Now looking into wrecking yard replacements and calling American Honda at 1-800-999-1009 Car now has 99,558 miles and works great-except can't sit in driver's seat!
