I have not yet taken this to the dealer for inspection but everyone I have talked with at this point (dealer body shop and infiniti usa) are telling me there is no way this could happen and I must have hit something. If I hit or if something hit me there would be additional damage to the surrounding area on the vehicle. While driving I heard a loud "popping" noise and saw the glass of the mirror was missing and the casing was in pieces. The back cover of the mirror and the mirror itself are gone. It was not safe to get out of the vehicle to search for the parts.
