QX60 V6

  • CVT transmission
  • 168,000 miles

A D V E R T I S E M E N T S

It started with a Shutter. Then one day I was dropping the kids off at school and it just would not move. I had to cut it off and turn it back on to finally make it move.

Then one day on the interstate, I saw that I was loosing speed and when I gave it gas nothing would happen. So I'd have to pull off an exit and eventually stopped. When I killed the car and waited for a min I could crank it and move a few feet. Finally got it home. Ran for codes. Changed valve body and tune up.. nothing. This was in May. Had the car a year. It is December and just got it back. I finally found someone who would even touch it . New transmission later. $5800 I finally got my Suv back. The CVT transmission runs on a cone looking thing. A belt slides up and down it for gears. Well when the belt goes to the highest gear and stays there it stretches. Therefore does register the lower gears. Bc its too big. No way to replace the belt. Also, QR code on transmission showed its transmission Had already been changed. This transmission came from a Nissan Altama. CarFax didn't know that I guess. It has been just awful.

QX60 3.5L

  • CVT transmission
  • 75,000 miles

Diagnosed by both our personal mechanic and NISSAN as a transmission shudder issue. NISSAN says a transmission replacement is necessary, should be covered under the extended warranty.
