The contact owns a 1999 Isuzu Amigo. The contact stated that the frame was corroded and began to deteriorate. The vehicle was included in NHTSA campaign number: 12V306000 (suspension); however, the dealer could not complete the repairs due to excessive corrosion. The manufacturer was not notified. The approximate failure mileage was 150,000.

Left side of frame rotted out causing control arm to fall off and differential to sway which put the vehicle in ditch.

The transmission subframe on my 1999 Isuzu Amigo rotted and broke off. Inspection of the undercarriage shows much of the subframe components are rusted through as is some of the frame.

-the contact owns a 1999 Isuzu Amigo. The contact observed when the vehicle was parked the passenger side rear suspension bar was completely rusted. The frame exhibited severe rust and broke in half. The vehicle was inoperative. The manufacturer was notified which there was no resolution. The contact had concern of the safety issue and stated the manufacturer should be responsible for the service repair. The failure mileage was 160,447. Updated 11/16/10.
