The contact S owns a 1999 Isuzu Rodeo. He received a recall on 10-14-05 regarding the brakes on the vehicle. The contact has not taken the car ito dealer to have the recall repair work done. The contact's vehicle was involved in an accident one year ago. A child ran O in front of vehicle, he swerved to miss the child, hit the brak they did not work, and the vehicle hit a telephone pole. A police report was taken. He felt that the accident caused other damage to the car, such as transmission slipping. He noticed the transmission slipping about five months ago. Had to do a lot of repair work to the front end of the vehicle about five months ago air bags deployed, and he has not had them installed again.

The consumer complained about an automatic transmission problem. When the consumer stopped at a light or stop sign she had trouble getting the vehicle to change gears. Also, vehicle would not pull forward, it just sat there. This happened especially when the vehicle get hot. The vehicle left the consumer stranded a lot. There was rattling and the mechanic suggested that nothing was wrong, a leak and smoke was seen coming from under the hood, a leak in the rear main and front differential seal and internal transmission failure.

Car will be in drive, but dash shows neutral or some other gear. Have to keep moving the gear switch until the dash says drive. Even then, car sometimes jerks when accelerating.

1999 Rodeo shifts hard into all gears and fuses keep blowing that controls the directionals, reverse lights, A/C and cruise control. 5 attemps have been made to repair problem and no success. The car is not safe to drive. Isuzu has not responded to 2 letters I have mailed, 1 letter was mailed containing all documentation of failures and that letter was returned to me, also many phone messages have not been returned. I want Isuzu to take responsibility for this problem and repurchase my car.

The transmission intermittently had a hard shift as if the car was rearended while shifting. This occurred at all speeds and gears. The vehicle has been to the dealer on several occasions, but they are unable to duplicate the problem. They say the computer showed no errors when tested.

My brakes have stopped working when I am braking and hit a bump. The brakes are also very soft and have to be pumped to insure that I have adequate braking power. My transmission slips after coming to a stop then starting forward again. Also, the entire vehicle has a vibration problem and is dangerously difficult to control in simple avoidable manuevers at 55 mph and higher.

Brakes: When coming to a stop light, stop sign or going over a bump at a relatively slow speed, there is a delay and brakes do not work. Brake is pushed down to the floor. The truck barely stops in time. Almost hit pedestrians twice due to brake failure! I'm afraid to drive my truck. Dealer tells me there is nothing wrong. Transmission: Car accelerates on its own sometimes. It revs high and has occasionally lunged forward while braking almost causing an accident. At this point, I don't want this truck anymore. There have been problems since I got it and two recalls already. The main reason is because I don't want to kill myself or someone else when brakes fail again!!!!
