I originally bought 4 yokohama tires in 8/98 from sears/ntb @ mileage of 106780. The right front tire blew out on the highway. There was a tiny crack at outer edge of tread (mileage approx. 141500). Sears/ntbstated the tire could not be fixed and I had to pay for a new yokohama tire (on 7/19/99 - mileage 141594). At mileage of 153128, I was advised by my Mazda service advisor, during a maintenance check that both front tires were showing cords. Even though there was a warrenty of 60,000 miles (and I already had a newer tire), I was advised by sears/ntb to replace the remaining 3. I purchased the 3 new yokohama tires from them. The mileage was at 153284. On 3/23/00, my right rear tire blew out while I was driving on a surface street. The tire had a tiny crack on the outer edge of the tread. Again, I was advised by sears/ntb that the tire could not be fixed. Mileage was 162292. It seems unusual that I have had so problems with the yokohama tires. I suspect that there may be a defect, which is why I am filing my complaint. I also have all my documentation if you need it.( dot number: 5229 tire size: P19565H14 )
