The contact owns a 2006 Mazda Mazdaspeed6. The contact stated the engine made a loud noise and occasionally it would not start. The vehicle was taken to the dealer several times while under warranty and stated the engine was operating normally. The vehicle was taken to another dealer who performed a diagnostic which indicated that the failure was within the engine variable valve timing. The manufacturer denied assistance with the repaired because the vehicle warranty expired. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 39,000 and the current mileage was 61,000.
