On Friday there was a fuel odor in the cabin was slight as I was driving around town (dropping the kids off at school) the odor increased. I left it parked for a day and the following the day the fuel odor increased to the point that I could not drive it around anymore. It was still driving in what seemed like normal driving conditions but the odor was too much.

Vehicle electronic throttle body (etb) was replaced at veterans Ford dealership in tampa, fl due to this part severely effecting ability of the vehicle to run properly (several times). Customer paid for this repair. Sometime after 3/4/14 when NHTSA completed their investigation, we received a notice that Ford was replacing this item. Since we already paid for the repair ($381.32) at a Ford dealership, we tried to get the reimbursement that Ford owes us. We were informed we had to have the original receipt, which to this day is still packed up in storage if we have it at all because we moved from fl to nc and are still involved in buying a new home. The bottom line is Ford (Corp) is refusing to honor their agreement to reimburse customers. The craziest part of this whole dilemma is that Ford has and controls 100% of the information needed to process our reimbursement, but absolutely refuses to do so without the original receipt. I could understand if we had this repair done at some unrelated, third party service facility. However, we went to a Ford dealership and they have record of completing the repair and us paying them for the repair. So again, Ford has all the information (proof) in their possession to take care of this reimbursement, but refuses to do so. I have called the customer (dis)satisfaction department at Ford corporate, but that is like talking to a brick wall as far as anyone having in common sense, accountability or decency to do the right thing (certainly any kind of good will is lacking in that organization). So here I am having to complain to the NHTSA to get Ford to do what they promised in the first place. I look forward to a timely reply letting me know you guys have this handled. Additionally, Ford should be reprimanded severely for such [xxx] behavior and attitude. Maybe a consumer reporter needs to get involved in all this. Thanks. Car felt like it was running out of gas. We pulled off the street and shut it down and waited, we had plenty of gas. We started it back up and it seemed ok, the engine and power train lights remained on. Since I had taken it in for the recall already and we were close to southgate Ford we pulled into the service area I spoke to the service person and was told it would cost $600 to fix. I mentioned the recall, he said that was just for the software we then left an went to auto zone where they put their diagnostic tool on the car and the print out read there was a problem with the throttle body. Ford dealers refuse to replace the throttle body under the recall.

My vehicle suddenly stalled when I was driving and no matter how much I tried to press on the gas...it would not move safely. I was very lucky because this was at a traffic intersection on beechmont and eight mile. I proceeded to drive it to the enterprise parking lot albeit it was extremely slow and I had cars honking at me because of the lights on the intersection. The mechanic repair shop says it's the throttle body.

In 2011, while driving at approximately 60 mph, I pressed the gas pedal and could not accelerate. The engine stayed on but I could not accelerate. I was able to turn on the hazards and pull off to the side of the highway. I turned off the vehicle and after waiting 5 minutes I restarted the vehicle and the gas pedal was working. Then again in October 2013, I was driving approximately 30 mph when I lost acceleration capability. This time the throttle body indicator light was displayed. I took the vehicle in to a mechanic and he stated that nothing registered on the computer as a malfunction. He looked at the intake valve and could not see any build-up. In January 2014 this happened 3 times and I was able to restart the vehicle and proceed. However, on January 11, 2014 after the malfunction the vehicle did not reset immediately now the check engine light is displayed.

When accelerating through an intersection, my vehicle lost acceleration power and the power brakes failed. After restarting the vehicle, the vehicle was slowly moved to a side street, backing-up traffic on the busy street. The vehicle was towed to a Ford dealership and the diagnosis was that throttle body needed replacing. The service cost me $503 plus tax.

While driving upon a roadway in our neighboring community at approximately 30 mph, my 2010 Mercury Mariner suddenly stopped traveling at speed, and went into 'limp mode'. I was able to slowly pull the vehicle into a parking lot. I called my wrecker service and they towed (flatbed) my vehicle back to the Ford dealer where I bought it. I purchased the 2010 Mercury Mariner new from the same dealer. They examined it and determined that the 'throttle body' needed to be replaced. They declined to repair it under warranty, stating that the part was no longer covered. They also stated that a recall had not been issued. I paid a total of $409.27 for the repair. The tow bill was covered under my membership in aaa.

Driving and the vehicle just slowed down and was not getting fuel. I pulled to the shoulder the car was still running but not getting fuel. I turned it off and restarted and it was ok. A few weeks later it did it again and I called a Ford dealership to have it checked out. I wanted to get it taken care of before the warranty expired.they said they could not find anything wrong. I had a couple more issues but I did not drive it much during colder weather. In June of 2013 I had another incident with the same issue. Over the next couple of months it continued occasionally but in August of 2013 it started more often. One incident was in an intersection that was very busy and I called the same Ford dealership to get it in again and they then found the throttle body was bad and had to be replaced, at this time it now cast me over $500 dollars to fix it.

Driving to work at steady speed when all of a sudden the car lost acceleration. While I was able to steer to the side of the road, had I been in the middle of a turn or an entry on the highway, it could have resulted in an accident. Pulled over to side of the road. Turned off vehicle and restarted. Drove about 1/3 mile and it did it again. This time when I put the car in park and kept it running it felt like it was trying to jump out of gear and accelerate which was very scary. We determined by calling internet it was the throttle body. Called three Ford dealerships where they were all sold out and back-ordered. We found one at the fourth and put it on ourself in 30 minutes. Cost $180 P/N ds7Z9E926D.Ford needs to do the right thing and recall the affected vehicles as they know it's a problem. They have multiple cars getting this problem fixed daily!!!!!!!

I have 2012 Mercury Mariner and I've had issues with my car going limp. When I'm driving uphill, my car loses power, the 'wrench' light comes on and I have to pull over (coast over) to the side of the road and turn off my engine and restart my car. The dealer said it was throttle body. Even though my car is under the mileage warranty, it is just over the 3 year warranty. It will cost $436 to repair/replace. My car lost acceleration power without warning and put me in dangerous situations several times.

Suddenly lost all power. Car did not stall but had no throttle. There was no shoulder on busy route 46 in New Jersey. I was fortunate to be able to coast into a wendy's parking lot to avoid a collision from the rear. Emergency repair was performed by a local mechanic. Identified fault code as P2112. Car restarted and I was forced by personal circumstance to drive the car home despite the incident. Very scary since I traveled on NJ turnpike by newark airport...elevated highway, 3 lanes, no shoulder, 65mph, 18 wheelers. If car had stalled there, I would have been killed!!!! I want my government to take action to force Ford to do the right thing and force a safety recall for the throttle body assembly..

I have no throttle response, engine RPM drop back to an idle, engine runs rough and stalls. No power. Moving to the side of the road, turn engine off and restart and will runs fine, but today this problem recurred every 4 miles. I was only 22 miles from home but that is a lot of stopping along side of the road.

While driving on local interstae (271S) my car began to lose speed and dropped from 60 mph to 10mph then to a crawl. Luckiy I made it to the shoulder ( I was in the right lane with limited traffic) the car began to sputter and jump. I turned off the ignition. This could have been a serious possible fatal accident if I had been in heavy traffic. No warning was provided. It happened, the wrench symbol popped up as it was happening and there was nothing I could do. I travel daily on the highway to/from work. The traffic is very heavy. Luckily, I was on the road on th weekend during a fairly low populated time frame. I called Mercury and and received no assistance. I called my local dealership and received no satisfaction there also. This is a serious incident and has hapened to many ( I can provide website with testimonials.) since this not a powertrain issue and it was past the 3/35,000 coverage, im stuck with the expense $360. Wear and tear is one thing but to see a flaw like this occur for many and nothing is done is not acceptable.
