05-07 Mariner and Escape Hybrids have also been noted to have power steering failure caused by the power steering control module like the 08-11s. However, it was not recalled. My Mariner has 72,000 miles on it and has been meticulously maintained, and power steering is out due to this problem. It's no longer under warranty, and it's going to cost just under $1,000 to fix. Ford should have included the 05-07 models in the recall.
