Had this same issue fixed under warranty twice. Why was this problem never addressed? after the vehicle ran out of the extended warranty the display went out yet again. At that time we decided we would forgo the feature we had paid for and been inconvenienced by twice before. We have no idea what the mileage is on the vehicle and I really wish we did for other warranty reasons. hard to warranty tires or anything else when they want to warranty according to mileage. Again not a safety issue so the company has no liability, and therefore no reason to fix their (now my) problem.

Information center comes on once in a while. I then write down the mileage. I have no idea what's wrong when a chime starts. Dealer wants $85 to look at it and says could cost up to $800 to fix! You would think Ford would take care of this as it's the only way to know the mileage, doors ajar, burned out lights, etc. I found a video on the internet that showed some bad solder connections on the back of the instrument panel so it could be an easy fix, but it didn't show how to remove the instrument panel - no visible screws.
