The transmission just went out on the freeway while my wife was doing 70mph. The van lost speed, thankfully she was able to get to the side of the road. Then the van would not move again. I left work early to save her and my 5 year old son that were now stuck on the side of the road. I work for a Ford dealer and a transmission that won't go 100k miles is ridiculous. After this and my wife's Fiesta I will never buy another ford car again. I will still buy Ford trucks, but cars never! I'm done with American cars, I work to hard for my money to have to pay so much in repair.

Know problem with this vehicle and no help from Ford. The two previous years were recalled for this exact issue why not this year? Probably didn't have any fatalities! My wife was driving down the road and all of a sudden nothing... the van would not move. Turns out the torque converter gave out. Again this issue was finally addressed in the 2004 - 2005 models with a recall. Losing my faith in all these manufacturers that supposedly care about their products and our well being.
