I have had my 2001 Alero for 3 years, have taken it in for the same problem atleast 10 times. The interior lights (trac off, service engine soon, etc) come on constantly. The anti-lock brakes engage often and now the horn won't work (although when I press the horn area and the car is off, the radio comes on). 4 times now, my car wouldn't start because the "anti-theft" system engaged. Didn't even know it had anti-theft until this happened. Had to have it towed to a mechanic to find out. If it happens again, they said to leave the key in the ignition for 10 minutes then try again....REALLY?

I recently spent over $700 to have the brakes, and other things done (interior lights included), drove the car home it was fine, next morning, the lights came back on. My blinkers work only when they feel like it, otherwise, I have to move the blinker handle myself to let others know I'm turning. Not even sure if the outside blinkers are working at the time. The rear defog doesn't work any more because the wire supposedly burned out and would cost over $150 for a new one.. Each time I bring my car in to check on it, the mechanics can't figure out why and think I'm crazy. I love Oldsmobile cars and have bought many in my 30 years of driving, but I'm so disappointed in this car I think I might go elsewhere.
