2001 Oldsmobile Intrigue reached 350000. Engine idled high! Began shutting off on me. I can't ever turn on AC without it overheating or shutting off my car. My dashboard is lit up like a Christmas tree. In the end it would cost too much to fix all issues both engine and electrical.

Car wants to die while I am driving down the road, almost lost all power. Scary, could be terrible. Yes, I had the ignition switch replaced, and it seems to have become worse afterwards.

This has been a super great car! But can not seem to fix this high idle thing. At first it was every now and a again. but now it happens at least twice a day if not more. When it does happen the only way I can get it to stop is to pull over, turn the ignition key off then after the car has stop running start it up again and it will be fine. For awhile. I tried replacing the idle air solenoid but did not fix the problem.
