After taking our 2002 L300 V6 in for routine maintenance Saturn replaced the BCM without our permission. The mechanic must have spilled soda or something while performing the swap because trace sticky residue was left in the glove box and all over the BCM board itself. Then when we went to go register the car in 2008, it did not pass smog listing P0403 as one of several of the DTC's. Knowing that the likelihood of an EGR failure or problems with the EGR solenoid being very small, we traced the problems to the BCM board itself. The BCM was initially replaced because problems with microscopic breaks in the solder joints on the BCM board were reported. This is because of a lack of supporting brackets and overtime vibration caused the cracks.I am desperately trying to get PIN to PIN schematics including relays and part numbers of the BCM and IP cluster/dashboard fuel & temperature gauges. I DO NOT WANT MITCHELL's, FIXYA, or ALL-DATA information. I have paid for these services only to be grossly disappointed with the lack of technical information and a support desk with little or no knowledge of the details of my problem. Oh, I forgot to say, I love my 2002 Saturn L300. I bought "Chuckie" right off the showroom floor at Saturn in Sunnyvale, he is in beautiful shape. But unless I can get the car to pass smog, I will lose my last chance to get the registration complete, after that the State of California and DMV will declare Chuckie a gross polluter and have him scrapped even though his exhaust system is fine, just part of his brain isn't working. Please help, send any information to wktomasini@gmail.com.
