synchros seem to go out over time on these cars, nothing real special... simple double-clutching it seems to help, and timing or manually synchronizing the transmission isn't that hard once you get the hang of it, it's just annoying. i recommend swapping out the engine and transmission to the LL0 with the MP3 transmission if it's this bad off... if you're going to spend the money, might as well get your money's worth.
