2014 FRS, regular maintenance and oil changes. 2013s had a recall on valve springs breaking. Driving, car stalls, thought maybe I dropped the clutch, a hard startup with ticking. I turn off car immediately and have it towed to the shop. Shop finds broken valve spring and jammed valve due to the spring. Estimate to replace from two shops around 12-13k. Called Toyota, who said it was out of warranty, tough luck, and would not escalate issue at all. Mechanic noted since he worked on car regularly there should be no reason for an issue like this with such a proven engine at low mileage and was a faulty part.

Beware if you have an FRS out of warranty. You will be left holding the bag. Worth 10,500 before the issue, and now worth scrap and parts.
