Transmission does a harsh/jerk downshift when coming to a stop. It does it randomly, usually when coming to a stop slowly. It's not safe, feels like the car lurches into 1st. Toyota reset the computer and it was ok for a bit but came back. I'm thinking it's the software of the car. Toyota said it's a learning transmission, but somethings wrong. It's scary to drive in traffic, and only have 33K miles. The transmission fluid was change by Toyota last year with the ws and it has not fixed this issue. I'm worried the car may stall in stop and go or lurch so hard firm the 2-1 downshift that I might hit the car in front of me and cause an accident.

Transmission jerks when slowing down to a stop, 50/50, it seems to be doing a hard downshift 2-1 before the stop. It's scary and feels like you got rear ended. There is also a click noise when the downshift happens. Took it to Toyota and had a transmission drain and fill, which they said the fluid was as clean and the computer has no store codes. The reset the transmission control module and the issue has returned, it shouldn't have these issues at 19K miles! also the transmission hesitates going into traffic, which can cause an accident because it seems like it doesn't know what gear to be in. I wish Toyota would read the other people's comments who had the same issues with this U760E transmission. This is a safety issue and needs to be corrected. I'm worried for the longevity and I feel I wasted money trying to do a transmission service which was suggested by Toyota and that didn't fix a thing.

The contact owns a 2015 Scion Tc. The contact stated that while approaching an intersection, the accelerator pedal was depressed however, there was a delay in vehicle response. The contact also stated that the vehicle downshifted intermittently without warning. The vehicle was taken to Toyota of santa maria (700 E betteravia rd, santa maria, ca 93454) to be diagnosed, however, the mechanic was unable to retrieve a fault code or duplicate the failure. The manufacturer was contacted and made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 18,000.

My 2015 Scion Tc automatic has rough shift points, rough idle at stop signs. The Scion frs has the same issues and Toyota issues a tsb for shift enhancement that fixed their transmission rough shifts and rough idle. I'm hoping that Scion or Toyota are listening and we need this fix too! resetting the computers by disconnecting the battery fixes the issue temporarily, since this is a 'learning' transmission, it always seems to default and starts to shift rough, shift too often or back to back even in city driving. It's gear hunting and I'm so sick of it. Toyota said they can't find anything wrong, I did a transmission drain and fill with Toyota thinking it would fix the issue and it never did. It's the ECU or tcm, we need the update just like you guys did for the frs and you fixed those issues! so please fix ours! these rough shifts are annoying. I only have 25K miles on my Tc so it can't be the transmission, it's the computers, please send out a new firmware to fix this!

When parked in neutral with the clutch pedal not depressed while running my cars transmission makes a whining noise and only goes away when you depress the clutch pedal to engage the clutch. Once you release the clutch it continues making the noise. Hot and cold temperatures doesn't make a difference. The dealership thinks it's the bearing in the transmission but not 100% sure until I pay them to open transmission. Toyota has a history of bearings going bad in the Tc transmissions and will not do anything and requests you to buy a new transmission.
