The contact owns a 2005 Subaru Impreza. When the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic for a yearly inspection, the technician noticed that the front subframe was corroded and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to NHTSA. The approximate failure mileage was 120,000.
