This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
The left rear strut of my 2005 sti has failed twice in less than 13K miles. The first failed at around 10K and the second at 12.6K miles. Strut failure on a bumpy road at high speed could cause loss of vehichle control and could result in very serious injury or death. Subaru should issue a recall and remedy the problem immediately. On a website for sti owners, there are over 100 owners reporting this same problem.
