Do yourself a favor and believe everything you hear about the steering issues of this vehicle. I am lucky to be alive . I entered the interstate on the on ramp and immediately lost steering at 70 mph resulting in my going off the highway into the tree line.....wrapping this vehicle around an oak tree. The only thing that worked well on the vehicle was the air bag! Three weeks later, I am still recovering from my traumatic brain injury on Christmas Eve after leaving work!

First my check engine light came on and the code says it has to do with the pulleys and within a day the power steering stopped working. I noticed they did a recall on the 2006 power steering pump for this exact reason why would the 06 be recalled and not the 08.

So a brand new car to me, only 9 months old and already needed the power steering column or motor replaced. It was screeching really bad and I had taken it in for a different problem and they informed me it would cost almost $600.00 to replace and is not typical covered. Since I had just bought it and hadn't had the oil changed yet they paid for it. But they did inform me that if I ever have the oil changed never have the power steering fluid refilled unless it's done by them. It for some reason takes a high quality fluid and most places but a cheap brand in. SO make sure you are using the correct fluid, this has been a huge reported problem at the servicing dealership and I was the only one they paid for under warranty(lucky me) But I wanted to let everyone know that you need to keep on top of every problem with this vehicle it is such a rip off. I also live in Montana and am over 300 miles away one direction and was not told by the lithia dealership that I bought it from that all covered warranty stuff had to be that far away. Spoke to the purchasing dealership and they said to me "well you asked about the warranty but never asked to the location, so it's your fault" To me this is a horrible business practice and just bad karma. I wanted to help others in my situation, frustrated with my Suzuki piece of shizzzz. This was my first car that was newer that 6 years old and this has been less reliable than any other vehicle in my past.
