Service air bag service light comes on and goes off. Passenger air bag light comes on and goes off regardless of weight on the passenger seat. Since Suzuki is out of business, I took it to my trusted mechanic. He said he didn't want to even look at it. Air bags are very expensive and he did not want to be responsible for it. Take it to a dealer. So I found a Mitsubishi dealer (which serviced a recall on our 2008 Suzuki grand vitara - see below) and they said it will cost a few hundred dollars just to look at it. Why has this not been recalled! I ask. They said they did not know. That we are not the first people to ask. For the record we also own a 2008 Suzuki grand vitara X-sport which was recalled for the same reason and fixed. The Mitsubishi dearer acully replaced the lower passenger side seat. When we picked up the car I couod not help notice a dumpster out back over flowing with seats. This is a huge safety problem. We are afrad to drive the car an don't have hundreds for the repair!!
