I have a 2000 Volvo S70 with the electronic throttle module problem. My car exhibits the classics symptoms already noted in NHTSA's findings. I just want to add my name to the list of complaints that Volvo is not doing enough to fix the problem. The Volvo dealership I have been taking my car to (in fife, wa) for chronic ets light coming on, car running rough, stalling, etc. Will not replace the electronic throttle module even though the light keeps coming on, the car keep stalling and running rough, and going into limp mode while driving at high speeds. I have asked them if it not the ETM then what is it? and they only told me to change the air flow sensor which I did and the problem keeps coming back over and over. I am beyond frustrated and concerned for mine and my children's safety because the car will lose throttle power on the freeway going 60 mph. When are they going to just recall the darn thing. What can I do. I called 1800-Volvo customer service and they routed me right back to the same dealership who won't fix anything in the first place! elizabeth larson

While driving from cleveland to roswell, ga, the electronic throttle control module failed in my 2000 Volvo S70. This caused the engine to lose power and the power-steering failed. I had to pull into a parking lot beside the road. The engine completely stopped. After about 30 minutes, I was able to restart it. The local Volvo dealer recommended replacing the module at a cost of over $1000. Old part was not returned.
