Mitsubishi Recalls Cars That Can Strand You on the Road
Clutch master cylinder can fail and leave you motionless.

— Mitsubishi is recalling over 10,400 model year 2008-2013 Lancer Evolution vehicles because the clutch master cylinder can fail.

What happens to a car when the clutch master cylinder fails?  A Porter, Texas,  Mitsubishi Lancer driver described it this way to CarComplaints.com.

"We bought this car brand new and it will get stuck...and not shift it will just sit there and do nothing."

That sounds about right, because once the clutch fails, the Lancer can fail to shift in or out of gear.

The affected vehicles were manufactured December 12, 2007, through March 5, 2013.

The recall should begin about November 11, 2013.  Mitsubishi dealers will replace the clutch master cylinder to make sure your Lancer actually moves when put into gear.

Owners can contact Mitsubishi at 888-648-7820 and give them recall number SR-13-009.
