Ram ProMaster Vans Recalled to Fix Ignition Switches
Chrysler says 18,000 Ram ProMaster vans have ignition switches that can cause electrical problems.

— Fiat Chrysler (FCA US) is recalling about 18,000 model year 2015 Ram ProMaster vans to repair problems with the ignition switches. Chrysler says the problem was discovered after an internal investigation determined problems at the supplier.

The automaker says the ProMaster vans were equipped with ignition components that can experience electrical problems. If the problem occurs, a driver could see a loss of power to the electrical systems.

Chrysler says if a driver experiences the electrical problem, turning the ignition off and back on should fix things, at least temporarily.

About 16,114 of the ProMaster vans are located in the U.S., with another 1,500 in Canada, 503 in Mexico and six vans outside those areas.

FCA says there haven't been any reports of accidents or injuries related to the ignition switches.

Chrysler didn't say much about the recall including when it will begin, but dealers are expected to replace the ignition switch contact holder.

Owners of the 2015 Ram ProMaster can contact FCA at 800-853-1403.
