Nissan Recalls Juke Nismo RS SUVs For Braking Problems
Nissan recalls 2015-2017 Juke Nismo RS SUVs due to problems with the master cylinders.

— Nissan is recalling 415 model year 2015-2017 Nissan Juke Nismo RS SUVs because of problems inside the brake master cylinders. Drivers may have trouble stopping the vehicles because brake fluid can leak into the brake boosters.

Nissan says the SUVs are equipped with master cylinders with cup seals inside that can twist around and move out of place. This can affect the seals and allow brake fluid to leak rapidly from the master cylinders into the brake boosters.

A driver will see a brake system warning light and notice increased stopping distances. However, because of the design of the braking system, Nissan says it expects the braking system will keep working.

The 2015-2017 Nissan Juke Nismo RS SUVs were manufactured in Japan from July 6, 2015, through January 30, 2017.

Nissan is not aware of any confirmed problems in the U.S. related to the master cylinders.

The recall should begin March 19, 2018, when dealers will begin replacing the brake master cylinders.

Owners may contact the automaker at 800-647-7261.
