— BMW is recalling about 240 model year 2019-2020 BMW 330i, 330i xDrive and 2019 BMW Z4 vehicles because the needle roller bearings of the counterbalance shafts may have been improperly installed, a problem that can cause the counterbalance shafts to loosen.
According to BMW, a loose counterbalance shaft can cause severe engine damage.
About 217 recalled vehicles are in the U.S. and 23 are recalled in Canada.
The automaker says the U.S. recall will begin December 6, 2019, when dealerships will replace the engines.
