Surprisingly common problem with the Chrysler Pacifica. Engine stalls, nothing works. The solution to the problem is a fix of a corroded ground wire that can be reached at the front of the engine. Wire G-103 corrodes at the wire/spade terminal connection where it is bolted to the engine. Replace the spade eyelet and resolder to the wire. Access is very poor, but can be done.Troubleshooting this is beyond the knowledge of most mechanics, so, they tend to start replacing modules without fixing the problem...very expensive.

Occasionally our car has stalled out while driving. Typically I pull over (it usually only happens while pulling out of my drive) turn the car off, wait a minute and away we go. However last week it started to happen daily, and then multiple times a day. Yesterday I went to go drive it to the mechanic down the street and all the lights associated with the brakes turned on and the car would not shift above 3rd gear. We have 135k miles on the thing, but I feel like this is extreme for the number of miles! Taking it to the mechanic to get it figured out.

I can not understand why this hasn't been recalled? The car randomly as I was driving home just BAM ~ stalled. Lost all functions, including steering and brakes. When I am accelerating it lunges and hesitates, pulsating back and forth until it finally just lunges forward and seems to be ok, until I have to take off from a stop sign or stop light again. It has stalled driving down my neighborhood road with the same exact scenario. It has even stalled while driving down I94, thank goodness it was later in the evening and traffic wasn't too heavy. Now I take all back roads even if it is way out of my way. Being mowed down by I-94 highway traffic isn't exactly my idea of fun.

No one knows what is wrong with my car or how to fix it. It is VERY obvious that MANY others are having the same issue. WTH Chrysler? I'm terrified to allow anyone to ride with me in this car because I never know when this is going to happen. It could happen several times in one day or not at all for 2 weeks. That is NOT a risk I'm willing to take.

How can I make my car safe when no one can even tell me whats wrong or how to fix it?

I have a 2007 Chrysler Pacifica and this is the second time this is happening. I will be driving and all of sudden the engine stops. I have had a few close calls where I almost had an accident, but by the grace of God I was able to move over out of traffic. The first time I had the issue was in 2010 and it took six months for the mechanic to figure out what was wrong with the car. The mechanic repaired the car, but now I don't remember what the issue was and the mechanic no longer works at the auto shop I went to. There is no triggers that I can pinpoint as to why the car shuts down. It could happen several times per day, and then not happen for 2 or 3 weeks. It's so unsafe and I can't believe Chrysler hasn't done a recall knowing that several people have had the same issue.

Was driving the car on Feb. 14 2016 and while stopped at a red light the car stalled, I shift it into Parking an started it back up, as soon as I put it into drive it stalled again. In order to move I had to rev the engine and dropped it into drive and it went. It stalled 4 times while on my way home, every time I repeated the revving and shifting until I made it home.

The next day I try to move it and it was more of the same, this only happens when shift into drive. But when shift into reverse there isn't a problem. Now the car is sitting in my drive way since I check here and found that the motor mounts are weak, I do not want to make things worse.

I changed the EGR valve on Feb. 18 2016, as some one mention this fixed the problem, to no avail it still do the same thing. there is no check engine light to guide me to the solution to this problem. I just purchased the car in November of 2015 and was taken by how nice the car looked. 2 owners well taken care off. and now is pass warranty. I am stuck with a $9,000.00 and some bill and a possessed car. If any one knows what to do HELP!

My car keeps stalling out when I take my foot off the gas at low speed and when coming to a stop. All the warning lights come on, power steering goes out, but thankfully the brakes do not. I put it in park, turn the ignition off, then turn it over again and it takes a SIGNIFICANT amount of pumping the gas to get/keep the engine going. After a minute, I can put it in drive and I'm off again... though I never know for how long before it happens again.

Since December it has become more frequent, I have noticed a loss of power, and the very last time it happened, only half the warning lights shut off when I restarted. It has escalated from "a pain in the ass" at stop signs, to becoming utterly terrifying when it happens getting on the highway or driving in Minneapolis rush hour. This car has become unsafe.

Oh how I would love to fix it!!! But did I fail to mention that there is NO ERROR CODE? No "check engine" light, no nothing!! And since I brought it to the mechanic, it is magically "running fine". It's been in the shop the last 4 days and I have flat out refused to take the thing home until they can replicate the problem or pull some kind of code. I DON'T WANT TO DIE IN A F###ING CHRYSLER.

As for the garage, heaven forbid they should lift the hood and LOOK at anything (air filter? fuel pump? ERG valve??), but that's another issue entirely. I will leave an update if I get anything useful from the garage.

Had slowed nearly to a stop from grocery parking lot, ready to merge with traffic when engine stalled out. Could not brake, could not steer, could not start car. Was slowly rolling into oncoming traffic. Dropped into neutral and was able to start (and brake). Car hitched and lurched a few times once on road, then returned to seemingly normal operation. Happy I wasn't t-boned.

I bought a used 07 Chrysler Pacifica, exactly one month to the day after purchase the vehicle started to stall on me at red light, intersections, or a low speed. It would start right back up most times some would take a time or two. I would like to know the cause of this problem so I can have it fixed. My children were in the car when it stalled on me thank God the cars coming in my direction were far enough away to hit the brakes before they hit us.. this is a very dangerous problem. Very dangerous and it seems there are quite a few people with this same problem, Chrysler needs to get it together before they get into a law suit over someone losing their life.. also got the codes P0456 P1129/1129

WE WERE DRIVING. I ASKED MY HUSBAND TO CLEAN THE WINDSHIELD. AS SOON AS HE PULLED THE WIPER STEM, THE HEADLIGHTS WENT OUT. THE CAR RESTARTED, BUT THE HEADLIGHTS WOULDN'T COME BACK ON.

WE PULLED OVER AGAIN AND OPENED THE HOOD. THE CAR WOULD RESTART, BUT NOW THE DASH CLUSTER WAS OUT ALONG WITH THE HEADLIGHTS. WE TURNED THE ENGINE OFF AND WEIRDLY, THE HEADLIGHTS CAME ON. THEY WERE FLASHING ON AND OFF, OVER AND OVER. WITHIN THE NEXT TEN MINUTES THE CAR WOULD START BUT WOULDN'T SHIFT OUT OF PARK.

FROM THERE THE ARMREST CONTROLS STOPPED FUNCTIONING, AND EVENTUALLY THE CAR JUST CHATTERED WHEN THE KEY WAS TURNED. THEN IT WOULDN'T EVEN DO THAT. IT COMPLETELY DIED. FOUR WEEKS AND $1600 LATER, WE HAVE A NEW TIPM L. THE ENTIRE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM WAS FRIED.

BEFORE THIS FINAL ELECTRICAL FRY, WE HAD PROBLEMS WITH ALL THE LIGHTS IN AND ON THE CAR FLASHING AND DIMMING. ALSO, THE CAR WOULD NOT SHIFT OUT OF PAR, OR THE CAR WOULD NOT START. SINCE HAVING THE TPIM REPLACED ALONG WITH GOD KNOW WHAT ELSE, THE LIGHT OCCASIONALLY WILL STILL BRIGHTEN FOR A SECOND, BUT AT LEAST IT'S RUNNING.

HOW MANY COMPLAINTS DOES IT TAKE FOR CHRYSLER TO ISSUE A RECALL? THERE ARE OVER 250 NHTSA COMPLAINTS CONCERNING ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS AND ENGINE STALLS DUE TO THE TIPM MODULES.

The car shut down merging onto the highway! We had it towed home and pulled the starter, no luck. Then we pulled the alternator, no luck. We also checked the battery, no luck. Now I am in the process of towing to a local dealer and talking with Chrysler complaint line to solve this issue. ! Plus the crank/shift sensor is not the problem.

I feel this car should be recalled completely !!!! Also if your going to try an fix the problems DON'T, it's not worth it. (The lights were flickering also) I am very disappointed in the company we bailed out. Still having problems with them producing a good car. If you make a good car, people will pay for it! I will keep in touch and let every Chrysler owner know how they handle this car/year/make, thank you.

Bought the car used at the beginning of the year with about 90,000miles on it. Shortly after purchasing, the car began to turn off while driving forcing my wife to manhandle the locked up power steering to get the car off the road before getting rear ended. At first it was a rare occurrence, but the last time driving the car shut down 7 times on her way to work. We were forced to immediately purchase another car. Now this one just sits. And even though we paid a little less than blue book and put 10%, the resale value has dropped so much this year alone even making double payments we still owe more than its worth.

This is the second time that the car stalled while driving approximately 30-35mph. Luckily I was in the right lane and could get off of the side of the road. All steering goes out so very hard to steer off of the road. Makes me nervous to drive. I called the dealership and they said they had no idea why it would do this. They said if it happens again to bring it in and they will check it out. Hopefully I will not be rear ended and can get off the road. I do not even turn the radio on when I drive now so I can hear if the engine decides to stop!

This is my wife’s car and we love driving it on road trips. This problem was intermittent and only happened once while I was driving it over the summer and since owning it my wife only had it happen a few random times and it was merely an annoyance. The car essentially stalls and the ABS, Traction Control, and Oil Lights come on. There is no warning, no check engine light codes, brakes go out, and steering becomes impossible. Here is the time table of events:

November 26th, 2012 – Stalled while wife was taking a slow speed right hand turn. Almost got rear-ended and t-boned.

November 27th, 2012 (morning) – Stalled while taking a slow speed right hand turn.

November 27th, 2012 (evening) - Stalled while coming to a stop, stalled while accelerating, and stalled while taking a right hand turn (all in the stretch of 2 miles my wife has to commute from home to work).

November 29th, 2012 – Stalled while accelerating. Took it to the dealership on November 30th and they had it over the weekend and returned it on December 4th with no resolution because they were unable to replicate the problem but there was a mention of there being a fault in the ABS system but they cleared the code. The car behaved itself for about 2 weeks.

December 17th, 2012 – Car stalled right in front of me while I was following my wife home from work.

December 18th, 2012 – I replaced the Crank Position Sensor

December 23rd, 2012 – Loaded the car up for a trip back home and as soon as I started the car the check engine light came on. I drove the car a matter of less than a ¼ mile and it died coming to a stop at a busy intersection. I took the car to have the codes read at the local auto parts store and the codes were for EGR and ABS.

December 27th, 2012 – Took the car to the dealership and while on the way there the vehicle stalled and died while I was driving it at a steady speed, I threw it in neutral, and fired it back up. The dealership said that the stalling problem was most likely caused by the EGR valve failing, which is what caused the engine light to come on. They cleared the ABS code and said that an ABS system issue would not cause the engine to die but a failing EGR valve would. If this persists I will continue to update this complaint in the hopes that this helps others work through the issue.

Update from March 17th, 2013: The problem has not re-appeared since the EGR valve was replaced.

My vehicle is just shutting off losing total power. No hazard lights no power steering, Nothing. Being stuck in the middle of a busy intersection with children in the car is a scary thing. I took my car into the Chrysler Service dept. I was charged $713.00 and they told me it was fixed. WRONG!!! My car shut off on me as I was pulling into traffic. I took my car back they told me there is no problem with my car. Out of frustration I called Chrysler corp. I was told by my case manager that the service center can add a co-pilot to my vehicle since the problem is intermitent. The service center said the Machine is worth $4,000.00 and they couldn't do it. I guess the lives of my family or others on the road is not worth $4,000. They told me to pick up my car and nothing was wrong with it. We were stranded at a 4 way stop for 20 min. I called my case manager at Chrysler corp. No call back. My husband called the service center no call back. If they think this car is so safe and nothing is wrong with it, they can put their family in it for a week. It is always great to pay to get something fixed and you get nothing in return. Thanks Chrysler for nothing!
