1-fuel system after filling up will choke itself out at slow speeds or idling-2-engine cuts out going 40-80 mph jerks and cuts off and back on sometimes engine light comes on and other times not 3- issues with turning car completely off have to put back into gear then park again to turn off 4- at times when putting into park my brake light comes on. I thought I did good on this car but now I'm beginning to think I'm in over my head all of this happens on average every other day. One or all things happen intermediate.

My car randomly cuts off at times while I'm driving. I don't know what the problem is. It seems that most mechanics can pinpoint the issue. It has happened on numerous occasions.

My vehicle has been stalling after filling up gas tank. This is very danger as it stops sometimes on a busy road. There needs to be a recall asap! I have looked up forums and this is happening to a lot of 2006 Chargers.

Vehicle stalls when slowing to stop or turn, only after filling the gas tank. The stalling persists, and has left me in dangerous situations, until enough fuel is used. From 3/4 full and lower there is no stalling whatsoever.

For the last several months I have had problems with my 2006 Dodge Charger rt stalling and cutting while driving or idling while stopped. This happens only after filling up my gas tank. Car stalls after fill up. Pull into traffic and you lose steering breaks ect. Need to put in park to restart. Will continue and miss and stall for about 5 miles. Once you run some fuel out of the car it runs exceptional until the next fill up.

Bought the 2006 Dodge Charger. We filled with gas a couple miles from the dealer. When leaving the gas station the car stalled in front of oncoming traffic. Thankfully, the other drivers avoided hitting us until we got it restarted. Then at highway speed the car again started bucking and choking. Research online shows this to be a common issue with this vehicle. This is a dangerous problem that concerns me greatly!

Jun 262019

  • 112,000 miles
My 2006 Dodge Charger has developed a stalling issue every time I fill with gas. I have tried different things as far as not filling to the top or not topping it off with gas. I filled with gas along an interstate and when I was trying to get on the interstate it quit on me down the off ramp when I was to merge with traffic. Was able to get car to the side of the interstate and re-start but died again. Started again and then it ran with no issues. Now it has issues every time it is gassed up. I filled up yesterday and same thing died out at a stop sign trying to get on the highway. I have heard this is a big issue with these cars and I'm surprised that there hasn't been anything done to Dodge to fix this issue. I've heard it could cost up to $1,500 to fix. I like the car but it is a safety issue to drive it. Please help! thanks

Charger

My 2006 Dodge Charger rt with the road and track option will intermittently loose power and often die after filling gas tank. Even if you don't completely fill it still will die unexpectedly. I never top the tank off with more gas. In addition when car dies going around a curve, the power steering goes out making driving really dangerous. The engine dies at nearly any condition. When traveling at highway speed, after accelerating after stopping. It happens most during acceleration after turns.

problem #252

Mar 262019

Charger

  • 120,000 miles
Recently, after pumping gas into my car and after driving for a few moments, the car stops as I approach a stop sign or a light. This has happened to me immediately after at least 3 recent gas fill-ups. I shut off my car and start it up again and after driving a short period, it happens again. This only happens after I pump gas into my vehicle (2006 Dodge Charger R/T). This has happened on city streets as I am fearful of going on the expressways with the possibility of it stalling and stopping. I believe there is a faulty valve or gas tank situation.
