Huge win for car owners! All TSBs to be made public. The Center for Auto Safety just made the NHTSA (US Government) make public the full text of all TSBs from now on. They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. Whenever you drive in your car, you are safer thanks in part to a lot of work over the years by this small but very effective consumer advocacy group.

Please take a moment & say thank you by donating $5 or whatever you can to the Center for Auto Safety.

The mechanical connection between the front cushion motor and the front of the seat failed, allowing the driver's seat to rock back and forth about 8 inches on the rear seat pivot. This rocking motion results in the lifting of the driver's foot from the brake or gas pedal, and a possible loss of vehicle control. If backing up, especially while on an incline, and the brake is applied, the seat will rock to the rear, lifting the driver's foot from the brake pedal. If the accelerator is hit too hard in drive, the foot is lifted from the accelerator, resulting in a sudden loss of vehicle control..

The lumbar support lever was activated by my husband and when activated, it sticks out beyond the driver's seat about 1/2 inch. When I got into the vehicle, my lower back hit the lever resulting in two bulged discs and a tear in the L4-S1 region on the right side. The severity of the injury has resulted in approximately $10,000 of medical bills. This is obviously a design flaw in that a lumbar support lever should not be in the pathway of one's back when entering the vehicle.
