Had engine problems with 3 year old Durango with 31,000 miles.. Took to dealer who came back with Chrysler corporate determined it was sludge due to lack of oil changes.. Their test showed water and metal in oil. They had no reason water was there so instead of investigating determined it was sludge related. They would not give me their test results which I wanted to have verified because I knew oil had been changed regularly. Only contact available was through a 1-800 number which provided little information and no help. They played the big corporate (non-Customer service) game. Dealer said out of my hands, 1-800 number said, only info is on the computer screen, and no one else available to talk to. Complete dead end. Lawyer advised litigation would be timely and difficult.. The Big Boys won.. I walked away and took my lunps.

Dodge needs to do something about this problem. This engine even if the oil changes are done, the engine builds up with sludge. It's still under warranty and they won't repair it!

These vehicles should be recalled. Durango's aren't cheap vehicles. Shame on DCC for really selling lemons whether or not the Lemon Law applies. Three year old engines should not fail unless it's a manufacturers defect.
