scavenge pump sheared off

The car (2000 Boxster) has been maintained meticulously with one-owner maintenance records by the book, 5000 mile oil changes, and preventative care. Having a catastrophic engine failure due to a scavenge pump shearing off inside the right bank at 57,000 miles is really unacceptable, particularly because the Boxster has only been autocross 8-10 times earlier in its life, and no track racing activity. Having to worry about IMS bearing failure, as well, is not indicative of great engineering from Porsche. This failure requires a full rebuild of the right bank.
