Oil leak spotted in my driveway, sometimes it leaked sometimes it didn't.?? . researched oil filter housing for 3,6 dodge motor . found out it is a common fail part . oil leaks from failed plastic oil filter housing will sit on top of motor and puddle and slowly leak down engine block ,( note : when oil is changed at service intervals, ask them to gently torque the filter cover BOLT , otherwise the more prone the housing is to future leaks ). In order to change the oil filter housing component , the entire top of the engine needs to be taken apart . do not buy a 3.6 dodge motor, otherwise budget for a future 1000.00 repair or get gallons of driveway oil cleaner ! park vehicle on an incline and wait for the oil to drip down the motor .....and you will know its the oil filter housing .
