Ram 1500 4.7L

2002 Dodge ram washed once a week and waxed every 2 months (Florida sun). Hood and roof turning white. Paint only covered 7 years.Dodge service quoted $1,000.00 to repaint it ( roof and hood only) My old Pontiac's paint started to peal off after 10 years and they repainted the entire car at no cost. They wrote it off under goodwill. Way to go dodge!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Next truck will not be Dodge.

I've been diligent with washing and waxing this truck by hand (no drive thru washes) since I bought the truck new in 2002. Last spring I noticed that the paint was getting dull on the roof and the hood. It has progressively gotten worse and appears as if the clearcoat is gone and the paint is fading.

How long should paint last? I would assume that clear coat should protect it and stay on the vehicle.
