After having my transmission serviced at the dealer (fluid and filter change), the Overdrive light came on and started blinking. The problem goes away if the ignition is turned off and the engine is restarted. The problem returns intermittently - usually several weeks apart. Prior to the transmission service, I was experiencing an intermittent problem with a severe lag of shifting between 1st and 2nd - only on the upshift. The engine will rev to about 3500 RPM during this shift lag. Neither problem has been remedied by the dealer.
We have partnered with JustAnswer to offer online auto repair help and advice from expert professional automotive technicians. You describe your transmission problem or ask your question and they try to help you figure it out. The fee is typically $9 to $15, but you can offer to pay more for really tough questions. You will usually receive an answer in 10 minutes or less, and you do not have to pay anything unless you accept the answer.

Bought truck and was so excited to get a good deal....found out 3 bad tires, no problem, slapped a new set of Michelin's on it, went to ford for recall on Cruise control and paid them to flush transmission fluid....suddenly the cruise control makes spinning sounds when set at 58 and now my O/D light flashes and gears are slipping....called ford and they want me to bring it back....scared they will fXXX it up. I am now learning everywhere NOT to flush the old fluid...it causes more problems.
