The contact owns a 2004 Ford Taurus. While driving on a decline, the contact depressed the pedal to accelerate, but the vehicle would not respond and rolled down hill. A local mechanic diagnosed that the trans-axle needed to be replaced. The dealer was notified, but did not assist the contact with the failure. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure and current mileage was 113,500. Updated 8/30/11
