Odyssey EXL 3.5L-Liter V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 65,000 miles

Honda said "so sorry but your car is too old for any consideration." The dealer told me the compressor and condenser had metal contamination that froze everything up and it will cost $2,626 to repair. Checking into this, I found this is a design flaw that Honda has been aware of for quite a while and have taken no steps to remedy even in the later models. They are adamantly refusing to help in repairs in any manner. I had been, I repeat HAD been, a loyal Honda owner but this is the third issue with this vehicle - brakes and transmission before it and other problems with the Odyssey. So, Sayonara Honda! Don't buy an Odyssey new or used, in fact stay away from the whole line. They are not the car company they used to be.

Catastrophic failure of the a/c system. My mechanic called me to tell me a bulletin was issued by Honda on this. Honda said they have never seen this in an Odyssey so they would only give $1,000 towards the problem. Some reliable car!! I am buying a Subaru next time!!
