My car stalled due to over heating. Bad noise and vibration from engine. Fan did not stop after engine turned off. Coolant leaked till empty. I was lucky because of cool weather in Canada. (cool weather might cause this problem though.) There was a leak from the water pump. It was replaced and fixed the problem, but vibration seems to remain - probably side effect of over heating. So if you notice that your temp needle is close to H, and fan does not stop for a while after you park the car, you should check fluid level and fix it right away or your engine will not come back to the same performance.
