The car is beautiful except for BUBBLING PAINT on hood. Just has little bubbles that leave exposed metal. I am researching Honda liability.

Peeling paint on the hood is a well known defect issue that has been verified by Honda. They "extended" the warranty by 6 months, which doesn't help if you have a pandemic during the last 6 months of the warranty! The dealer admitted that the giant hole in the paint on our hood is caused by the defect (I have the receipt!) but Honda denied any coverage.

So, if you are going to buy a Honda, be prepared to invest in quality paint, because Honda certainly doesn't.

Paint began to bubble and peel off near the window on the tailgate. I mentioned the paint issue to my service tech while it was at the dealer for an oil change. The regional manager happened to be in the shop that day, saw the damage and offered to cover having the tailgate repainted at my convenience. They specified that they would not cover the cost of a rental car or loaner vehicle while the work was being done (3 days). Tailgate was repainted at a local shop and problem was resolved. A year later (June 2018), I now have peeling paint on the roof in multiple spots as well as around the joints of the hood. They are currently offering to pay only 1/3 of the estimated repair cost which is $2100.
