At 45K miles DIY oil change noticed rubber pieces in the drained oil (later realized those were parts of piston rings). Soon got Check Engine Light on and VSA warning. Dealer performed the diagnostic and stated that piston rings need replacement. The job was quoted at $5K with the vehicle just out of 8 year extended warranty.
