The check engine light on. It's the second engine problem this vehicle has had.

This scared the bejeebers out of me as I was on the Ohio Turnpike. I called the Honda number in the back of the book and after several suggestions the lady on the other end directed me to Victory Honda in Sandusky, Ohio. I must say they were wonderful. They did a temporary fix for the problem at no cost and now I am back in Michigan and the car is going in to Cawood Honda this morning at 8:00 under extended warranty 13-081 in case anyone is having a problem with the engine light coming on and the car balking when you step on the gas. The book tells you to get to a dealer. Do go. Being an older female alone on the highway, this problem upset me to no end. If it does not get taken care of, you will hear more from me. It would be nice if owners were warned that this is a problem as it apparently had a lawsuit over this.

Well not really a complaint but just information. We do have an extended Warranty, however the work was done because of a recall. I never saw a recall listed anywhere. The Check Engine Light came on when one of the cylinders was misfiring. We were told that due to the Variable speed control I think it is called. It is the function which shuts off 2 cylinders while in a downhill or flat cruise mode caused the trouble and that only 4 cylinders were effected. To My amazement they only replaced the rings on those 4 cylinders. All is well for now but I do have concerns that the other cylinders could later be bad.

Check engine light came on all of a sudden and did not flash on a Friday night. Honda Dealer said I had to tow it in. They tell me there is a 'warranty extension' that covers it but also said I had the following that HAD to be repaired: timing belt tensioner leaking, oil pump plug leaking, engine block plugs leaking, and rear shocks leaking. Yikes - estimate is like $2000 for this additional stuff. I tell them I have the HondaCare extended warranty so we wait until they can call them Monday morning. HondaCare says they need to send an independent agent to check it out. WHAT? They don't trust their own dealer? So we wait for that and they go ahead and do the major 'warranty extension' repair. I talk with HondaCare (because the dealer is not getting back to me and it was after they had closed) and they are upset that my dealer went ahead and did the first repair rather than waiting a day and a half for this inspector. They tell me it should only be the parts for the other issues since it was open during the major repair but they are waiting on something from the inspector again. They approve the rear shocks so at least I can get a covered rental car. Then they come back and say the 3 other issues are 'seeping' and not leaking so they will not cover it. This is a Honda dealer telling me I have to have it, but Honda warranty saying no I dont. So who is lying? Dealer just blows it off and says sorry they cant help me. Same from HondaCare. Guess where I am never going again,..

check engine light at 41353, shudders, jerks, vibration, A/C

I have been complaining about the problems but Honda could never find anything until I got a transmission light along with vehicle slippery light at 41,000 miles. I experienced all kinds of noises. I noticed more problems came when van had more weight and/or mountains were involved. At first it sounded like a chain was dragging. Then the jerks, vibrations, loud clanks, and shuddering developed. I was told by the dealer that the van would eventually just stop. I asked how much it would have cost me and I was told around $3000.00 Because the cylinder was broke my gas mileage has suffered, and my a/c had loud noises when running. Owned 1995, 2005, and now 2012 Odyssey. The 1995 van was great but after that one problems came along with the other years. The 2012 has been the worst vehicle we have owned. We were loyal to Honda but not anymore. We just replaced 2009 CRV with 89,000 miles because of transmission problems. We bought 2014 Rav 4, hopefully we have better luck. I wish I could trust Honda, but not anymore. I want to buy another van or SUV but don't know what to buy.
