CarComplaints.com Notes: There's an emerging trend of transmission problem with the 2010 Elantra at fairly early mileage.

So far owners report having the transmission replaced under warranty but that won't hold up for much longer. It may be a bit premature but for now we're putting the "CLUNKER" rating on the 2010 Elantra just to be safe.

Speaking of being safe, you might not be unless Hyundai can figure out why their airbags aren't deploying.

I CAN'T BELIEVE THAT A NEW KEY WOULD COST MORE THAN $65.00 AND TAKE OVER A WEEK TO HAVE A NEW ONE MADE. THEY TELL ME IT HAS TO BE LASERED. I SUGGEST TO HYUNDAI THAT THEY COME UP WITH A BETTER ANSWER TO REPLACE A LOST KEY. I AM NOT EVEN TALKING ABOUT THE ELECTRONIC BIT THAT UNLOCKS THE DOORS AND OPENS THEM.. MANY PEOPLE CANNOT COME UP WITH THAT MUCH MONEY AND WAIT THIS LONG TO GET A REPLACEMENT KEY. (SORRY I FORGOT TO MENTION I LOST MINE). I WOULD HOPE THAT HYUNDAI HAS SOME ENGINEERS THAT COULD COME UP WITH A BETTER IGNITION KEY THAT IS NOT SO COSTLY AND HARD TO REPLACE LOCALLY. I KNOW ALL ABOUT CAR THIEVES BUT THE PRESENT SITUATION IS NOT FOR A HAPPY CAR BUYER. I AM GOING TO WARN ALL MY FACEBOOK FRIENDS TO BE CAREFUL IF THEY ARE THINKING ABOUT BUYING A HYUNDAI. IT MIGHT BE A GOOD IDEA FOR HYUNDAI TO INCLUDE IN THE ORIGINAL PURCHASE PRICE A PROVISION TO PROVIDE BUYERS A FREE KEY AND ELECTRONIC BUTTON .
