Driving home from work (55-65 mph) me head light went off, they then proceeded to blink on and off. From time to time the head lights still blink off and on but it is impossible for me to recreate this situation. The dash lights still continue to blink off and on all the time. Chrysler will not acknowledge a problem and I know of three other vehicles this happens to as well. I have never had anyone find anything wrong with vehicle (so I have been told).

While driving my 2005 Jeep(with my 2 year old daughter in the back)on a Friday evening my dashboard lights and headlights went nuts. They flashed on and off for about 30 seconds and it was pitch black-I was going about 60mph. I decided to take it really slowly but keep on driving, I had issues earlier this year with some shifting module.I really get freaked out about this stuff when my daughters in the car but it was fine for the rest of the weekend.then Monday comes. I was on the highway doing about 70mph when it happened again. This time it was not my front lights but it was the dashboard again for about 2 minutes. I called Chrysler because I have a power-terrain warranty I thought it my be covered. But I need to pay to have it diagnosed-not easy in December right before the holidays. The other problem is a "pop" or "lock" when I'm driving. It seems to be coming from the back. Almost like the brakes locking"?"and again have to pay to just have it diagnosed. What happen to the public calling and explaining the issue and the tech saying"oh I know what that is"or "yea sounds like your blank is loose" I just bought this not even 2 years ago and already dumped over $1000 for parts. It seems like a lot of others are having these issues. Diamler Chrysler should recall these issues for safety purposes.

When I start and as I'm driving the truck the headlights are flickering along with the radio. The RPM and speedometer gauges are jumping up and down as I drive. I can hear a cluster of clicking noises coming from behind the radio, underneath the steering wheel in the wiring harness's and also from underneath the hood in the fuze box closet to the driver. The heated seats do not work along with the radio and gps, the turning signals and the fog lights do not work when this is going on. The dealer has no idea what's wrong with the car, I have already changed the battery, alternator, and starter. This seams to be an ongoing problem with this truck and its a serious safety hazard.

I bought my 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee in April 2010 so I have had it for 5 months. In that 5 months the driver side rear door handle has completely broken and fallen into the door, the passenger side rear door has cracked and will be completely broken soon, the passenger front door handle is just beginning to crack so the only one that really works 100% is the driver door handle. I have an extended bumper to bumper warranty that we purchased and were told the only thing it didn't cover was the dvd player...well they lied! about a month after we bought the Jeep while driving the ac would shut off and everything on the dash would start to blink on and off and then suddenly stop, I took it in and all they said was we could not get it to do it again. We recently had the rear differentials repaired due to them going out, they actually covered that under the warranty. The only other issue is sometimes while stopped at a stoplight and idle the Jeep will seem like it wants to die but never does. I only have 56000 miles on my car and have owned it 5 short months and have had all of these issues, my main concern is the door handles because not only can my 3 kids not get out if there is an emergency, but where the plastic has cracked it has sharp edges and they could easily cut their hands. Something needs to be done before that happens! what is it going to take, an injured child"???"

I have had the same issues with my 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo for many years. It seems to be an electrical problem, but no one can tell me for sure what the problem is. There are three major issues that seem to happen around the same time. 1. while slowing down and the engine is idling it has a tendency to stall. It stalls at many stop signs and red lights. Sometimes when I'm just idling the engine will fluxuate between 400 and 1000 RPM's and then it will stall. 2. while driving I will lose all electrical power. The lights will flash and the dash will ding and click. The tachometer and speedometer will go to 0 the engine will remain running while this happens. If the ignition is turned off and re-started the problem seem to vanish. 3. out of nowhere the Jeep won't start. All I get is a clicking noise when I turn the ignition. The dash lights up and the lights work and the radio works. The battery tests out fine. I've had the battery, alternator, and started replaced but the issue remains. It will eventually start, but the problem return in a few days. I've had the Jeep into the dealership but they can't find anything wrong.

I have been having a problem with my 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee since October of 2008. I have been at my wit's end because I have had the ECM replaced along with the battery and starter and the same intermittent starting continues. I have just discovered that I am not the only one. Please refer to the link below. I urge you to investigate this problem. I have had four Jeep and this is the only one I have had a problem with and it seems that a large number of people have the same problem. This seems to be a problem that begs for an investigation. The date I have indicated is only the latest date of the incidents that have occurred since October 2008. I have had three incidents this week starting on July 18th and ending the 23rd. autoforum.classifieds1000.com/Jeep grand_cherokee/2005_jeep_gc_not_starting [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).

The contact owns a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact was driving approximately 65 mph when the engine stalled without warning. The vehicle restarted and began to function normally. In addition, the entire electrical system would not function which included the instrument panel and temperature gauges. The failures occurred intermittently and became progressively worse over time. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where a diagnostic test was performed. The technician was unable to identify the electrical problem. The manufacturer stated that they would conduct a research regarding the electrical failure and follow up with the contact. The contact stated that the manufacturer had not been responsive to him concerning the safety defects when the complaint was filed. The failure mileage was 30,000.

2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee has had continuous electrical problems with engine light coming on and stalling since it had about 9000 miles on it and was bought new. Dealership has looked at it several times and could not every find anything wrong with it and usually clears out failure and problems occur shortly after again. After the vehicle stranded me a week ago and once again the service department found nothing wrong-replaced the battery, the vehicle is stalling more than ever and almost had a serious accident that could have been fatal because the power went out driving on the interstate with power steering gone and came close to getting hit by a tractor trailer. Was able to throw into neutral and restart, but this is not a safe condition. The area on interstate was in a construction zone and it seems the problem typically occurs when decelerating below 30 mph.

I own a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee that has 4 interior door handles broken. To get out of my car I have to roll down my window, open my door and then open the rest of the doors for my 3 kids. This is a scary situation in case I am involved in an accident and there is a fire. If my Jeep turns off how am I supposed to roll down the electrical window and escape out of my car. Our safety is in great danger because of defective door handles that are not even forced and break off so easily. Another problem I have with my Jeep is that when I start it and start driving, the electrical brake system light, the engine light, the ABS light and some other light turn on. After the lights turn, the speedometer will no longer work, I can't see how many miles per hour I am driving. I have to turn of the Jeep, restart it and that will make the speedometer work but the engine light will not go off. In a couple of occasions I have come to make a complete stop with the vehicle and all of a sudden it will turn off dead. I have to put the vehicle in park and restart it again.

Jeep Grand Cherokee ltd 2005- we have 4 drivers in our family 2 adults and 2 teenagers. Our Jeep will suddenly cut out and turn off while we are on the freeway at 65 plus speeds the car just dies everything just locks off and the car is just dead. It has happened over 6 times. You are on a freeway and somehow have to maneuver over to the side of the freeway. Its very scary. It has happened to me four times my husband once and my daughter once. The car also doesn't start right away once you are on the shoulder. Very dangerous situation no rhyme or reason and no warning I have read other Jeep are having this problem.

My 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee with 50,000 miles, has huge electrical issues. It either will not start and leaves me stranded at home, market, at night after work, or.... if I can get it running after 5 minutes of driving the transmission goes into "limp" mode on the freeway or surface streets and I am afraid I will be stranded again. The dealer has changed out numerous electrical parts to no avail. I as a single woman do not feel safe in this car and have asked the mfg and the dealer to replace it again with no response.

1. while driving at a standard velocity of 55 mph, the engine lamp in the dash board turns on and the velocity of the Jeep Grand Cherokee decreases very fast with shaking motions. Even thought the accelerator is pushed to increase velocity, it did not respond. These has happened about 4 times in 4 years. Nothing has been done since the event is an intermittent one. 2. under normal use the interior panels in the area of the handles got broken. To correct this, the interior panels (4 panels) were reordered.
