Huge win for car owners! All TSBs to be made public. The Center for Auto Safety just made the NHTSA (US Government) make public the full text of all TSBs from now on. They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. Whenever you drive in your car, you are safer thanks in part to a lot of work over the years by this small but very effective consumer advocacy group.

There was a recall on the front air bags where they would deploy at any time. I took my Jeep in around 6-12 months before the incident happened and got the recall fixed but it still went off. I have a remote starter on it and had it running to cool it off before I got in to leave. I was standing not even 10 feet from it and it just went off. I just wanted you to be aware of the fact that I had the recall fixed and it still didn't work.

I filed a complaint with a representative from Chrysler and it is shown on the previous page..however, a couple of things aren't as I described them to her. We received 3 recalls and took the Jeep to mtn. View in ringgold ga on July 28/2014. The recalls were for trailer hitch, air bags and seatbelts..we were there for approximately 4 hours and were told we were ready to leave.a few (3) miles towards home the air bag light came on-we had stopped at a vegetable stand and immediately turned around and went back to the dealer ship..they were not happy..after about 35-40 minutes a guy comes out and said it was our battery!! that we needed to purchase a new one..we left and started home again and just a couple of miles up the road the light came on and has continued to stay on..on the other information the girl took she said we did not take the car back to the dealership-but it was not fixed..I called and filed a complaint because of the harsh treatment and the problem was not solved and because medicine belonging to my husband had been taken out of the console..she suggested I notify Chrysler and then gave me and ODI # 10618678. Chrysler said it was reported the airbag module and a ball joint had been replaced...

The air bag light is on and we took the vehicle in to have the recall fixed (orc module) the dealership installed a jumper wire as part of the recall but said the orc module is bad. I contacted Jeep corporation about getting the module replaced but they said it had not been recalled, just the filter for it. After checking online I have found several people who have been told the same thing and it seems to me the so called "fix" is not the actual problem. The dealership wants $460 to replace the module which in my opinion is what should have been recalled. I am sending this as a way of documenting what has been done and not done if the air bags malfunction as I have read in my research.

On 20 May 14, vehicle was brought to waldorf (Maryland) darcars (Chrysler Jeep) after dash air bag icon came on steady. I was told that air bag would not deploy as long as the icon was lit. Occ. Rstr. Control module #56010501-ag needed to be ordered ($266 for part only), but the dealership already had 22 on back order....22!...at a single dealership! so now I have to ride around w/O an operable air bag until Chrysler comes through with this critical part. Makes you wonder how prevalent this problem is.
